Large Raynaud Limoges Bowl in Polychrome Porcelain & Solid Silver – Bird Motif – Art Deco, circa 1925-1940

€350,00

This large Limoges porcelain bowl, signed A. Raynaud & Cie, displays a rich polychrome decoration with Far Eastern inspiration: birds, flowering branches and butterflies.

The composition stands out for its particularly luminous colours, combining green, orange, yellow and blue on a white ground, with a wide decorative frieze running around the rim. The faceted shape and decoration reflect the Raynaud house's taste for creations inspired by Asian art during the Art Deco period.

The faceted bowl is rimmed with solid silver. This rim mount bears the French Minerva hallmark, as well as a maker's mark attributed to Félix Frères.

The reverse bears the mark A. Raynaud & Cie – Limoges, a French manufactory founded in Limoges in the early 20th century and particularly renowned for the quality of its porcelain and the richness of its decorations.
