Christofle Spatours, Pair of Silver-Plated Lobster Forks, New

Pair of lobster forks, also known as lobster or seafood picks, from the Spatours pattern by Christofle, in silver-plate. Both pieces are new.

Their slender tip with two small tines reaches the meat deep inside the claws and legs of lobster, crayfish or crab. A specialist piece, invaluable for a seafood platter.

The Spatours pattern

Spatours has been in the Christofle catalogue since 1862, making it one of the oldest patterns the house still produces. Its name combines two French words, spatule and contour: the handle widens into a trefoil-ended spatula, outlined by threads that follow its whole contour. A sober classic that suits every style of table.

Marks

The Christofle knight hallmark, which also bears the house initials, OC, together with the words CHRISTOFLE FRANCE.

Condition

New. Neither piece has ever been used. One is still in its original Christofle sleeve, the other has been unwrapped. The metal shows light tarnish in places, visible in the photos, normal on new silver-plate kept in storage for a long time.
