The Perles pattern

In the Christofle catalogue since 1879, Perles is one of the house's founding patterns. It takes up a key ornament of the neoclassical vocabulary: the beaded border, which Parisian silversmiths of the late 18th century set along the edges of flatware and hollowware. Here, a fine frieze of raised half-pearls follows the outline of the handle, whose surface remains smooth and bright.

The fish knife, with its broad, blunt blade, lifts the fillets without crushing the flesh. A typical piece of the French table service.

Marks

Christofle and France marks, with the Christofle horseman hallmark, which also bears the initials of the house, OC.
