The Perles pattern

In the Christofle catalogue since 1879, Perles is one of the house's founding patterns. It takes up a key ornament of the neoclassical vocabulary: the beaded border, which Parisian silversmiths of the late 18^th century set along the edges of flatware and hollowware. Here, a fine frieze of raised half-pearls follows the outline of the handle, whose surface remains smooth and bright.

The ice cream spoon, recognisable by its wide, almost square bowl, accompanies sorbets, ice creams and desserts served in cups.
