Christofle "Talisman" Chafing Dish – Bernard Yot – Silver-Plate & Sienna Chinese Lacquer – 1986

€860,00

This chafing dish belongs to the Talisman collection by Christofle, designed by Bernard Yot and the Christofle Studio.

Created in 1986, the Talisman collection ranks among Christofle's iconic creations of the late 20th century. Drawing on Art Deco aesthetics, it is notably characterised by the refined pairing of metal and lacquer, giving rise to pieces with clean, graphic and particularly elegant lines.

This chafing dish pairs silver-plate with elements in sienna-coloured Chinese lacquer, whose warm tone contrasts harmoniously with the shine of the silver-plating.

The circular top has an engine-turned (guilloché) ground of fine regular lines around a smooth central medallion. It rests on a ring joined by three arms to the central burner cup, which keeps the dish warm, and on three sienna lacquer columns ringed with silver-plate and topped with a ball. Its balanced geometric design perfectly reflects the aesthetic of the Talisman collection and Bernard Yot's work for Christofle.

The piece bears the CHRISTOFLE FRANCE marks as well as the house hallmarks, visible in the photographs.
