Sugar tongs from the Perles pattern by Christofle, in silver plate. New, never unpacked, in their original Christofle blister pack, and supplied with their original Christofle box.
Sold individually, 3 available. A refined accessory for tea and coffee service, to complete a Perles set or accompany a sugar bowl. Presented in its box, it also makes a lovely gift.
The Perles pattern
In the Christofle catalogue since 1879, Perles is one of the house's founding patterns. It takes up a key ornament of the neoclassical vocabulary: the beaded border, which Parisian silversmiths of the late 18th century set along the edges of flatware and hollowware. On these tongs, the frieze of raised half-pearls outlines both arms, which end in small bowls.
Marks
Christofle and France marks, with the Christofle horseman hallmark, which also bears the initials of the house, OC.
